Support

It has come to our attention that some users of apps are experiencing problems when downloading updates. This is affecting different apps from the app store and not just Banks on Sentence.

The solution is as follows:

1. Remove the Application from your iPad - you don't have to repurchase the App.
2. Click and hold the icon until it displays a cross sign at the left of the icon.
3. Confirm the delete, by clicking the Delete button.
4. Start (the blue) App Store.
5. Click on the Purchased icon in the bottom bar.
6. Click "Not on this iPad" at the top of the screen.
7. Locate "Banks on Sentence" and click its icon.
8. Click the "Install" button.

If you have any further problems or need additional help, please do not hesitate to contact Lyndon Harris at Banks on Sentence.

We request that any users who experience technical difficulties with the App contact app@banksr.com or call 01435 88 38 38. This will enable us to give the user the latest information and if the user is kind enough to assist, will provide our technical team with the scenario that caused the crash on their particular iPad. The technicians can then check whether the problem has been solved.

This has to be the most informative and interactive 'legal app' on the market at the moment. Like the book, the Banks on Sentence App will soon become indispensible as more and more barristers and solicitors turn to their iPads rather than reaching for a dusty book. As you would expect, the App contains all the information any practitioner or judge could hope to need when dealing with sentences in the Magistrates' and Crown Court. The App is easy to use and contains some great features, including (i) a helpful index section, (ii) a search function and (iii) a favourites feature. It goes without saying that the App details all the important cases and principles you could hope to need, as well as including all the Guidelines issued by the Sentencing Guidelines Council. Helpfully, the paragraph numbers mirror that of the book, thus ensuring that you can easily direct a judge (who may not yet be in command of an iPad) to the relevant sections. All in all, if you are a criminal practitioner who has an iPad, you MUST buy this App. Well done Robert Banks and Co!

This scholarly but practical work is a masterpiece of construction. It is simply indispensible.

e-book

We are aware of the need for an e-book for many practitioners.

We are currently working on an e-book version of Banks on Sentence but there remains the issue of security.
